Tesla Motors Inc. has downloaded a new group of electronic features into its Model S electric sedans.

The sixth round of software updates, including a few described as being in beta development, are being delivered wirelessly through each car's built-in cellular connection. The new batch of features gives each car the ability to:

Provide traffic-based route navigation adviceDisplay the driver's smartphone calendar on the IP touchscreenStart remotely via a smartphone commandAdjust the air suspension height according to the car's locationManage overnight energy consumptionGive the car a nickname that appears on the touchscreen and Tesla mobile appPreviously downloaded updates have added hill start assist, an energy-saving sleep mode and smart suspension controls.
