Mitsubishi Motors Corp. plans to install fast-charge stations at all 700 of its dealerships in Japan by March 2016, The Nikkei reports.

The units, most of which will be accessible 24 hours a day, can recharge an electric car or plug-in hybrid to 80% of capacity in about 30 minutes. Customers will pay 1,000 yen (about $8) per month for access to the chargers nationwide.

MMC joins Nissan Motor Corp., which has installed quick chargers at 1,600 of its dealerships and standard chargers at 500 others in Japan. The Nikkei says Nissan's installations are mostly available only during business hours.
