Canada to Supply Fuel Cells for Trains in Europe

Mississauga, Ont.-based Hydrogenics Corp. has signed a 10-year, €50 million ($55 million) agreement to supply French train maker Alstom Transport with 200 hydrogen fuel cell systems for regional commuter trains in Europe.

Mississauga, Ont.-based Hydrogenics Corp. has signed a 10-year, €50 million ($55 million) agreement to supply French train maker Alstom Transport with 200 hydrogen fuel cell systems for regional commuter trains in Europe.

The Canadian company will supply fuel cells based on its heavy-duty series but reconfigured to meet European regulations.

The company is slated to deliver the first of as many as 200 engine systems in 2016.
