Nissan Motor Co. has uncovered new cases of errors in the final inspection tests it performs on cars sold in Japan, Reuters reports.

The news service says the discovery may lead to new recalls. Nissan declined to comment.

Nissan has been mired in a scandal over improper safety checks since October 2017. That’s when Japanese regulators revealed that Nissan used unqualified workers to perform tests and doctor their reports to make them appear legitimate. The scandal prompted Nissan to recall 24 models representing 1.2 million vehicles in Japan.
