BMW AG has appointed Bernd Korber to head its Mini brand.

Korber, who joined BMW in 2003, most recently was in charge of the company’s global brand strategy. He previously oversaw business development for the company’s operations in China and headed product portfolio strategy. Other posts included roles at Mini in marketing, brand management and product planning.

In his new job, Korber will spearhead the roll out of several electrified models, including the all—electric Mini Cooper SE. He succeeds Sebastian Mackensen, who was named sales chief for BMW in Germany last autumn.
