Former BorgWarner Exec Joins ZF Board

ZF Friedrichshafen AG has appointed Martin Fischer to its management board to oversee safety systems, electronics and advanced driver assist systems in the Americas.

ZF Friedrichshafen AG has appointed Martin Fischer to its management board with responsibilities for active and passive safety systems, electronics and advanced driver assist systems in North and South America.

Fischer begins his new assignment on Nov. 1. He will succeed Franz Kleiner, who plans to retire at the start of 2020 after a 13-year career with ZF and 15 years with Daimler AG.

Fischer joins ZF from BorgWarner Inc., where he most recently led the company’s global transmission business. He previously was the president of Hella’s corporate center in Plymouth, Mich., and also worked for Siemens VDO Automotive. The 49-year-old holds a doctorate degree in electrical engineering from the Technical University in Darmstadt, Germany.
