Ford Motor Co. plans to increase the number of battery charging stations for employee use at its North American facilities from 200 to 600 over the next three years.

The carmaker, which began equipping its facilities with charging stations in 2014, says such installations can significantly improve the usage of electrified vehicles. Ford also expects to benefit from the program by learning more about the charging habits of EV owners.

Ford’s current electrified lineup consists of the Focus Electric EV, Fusion Hybrid sedan and the plug-in hybrid Fusion Energi and C-Max Energi. Earlier this month the carmaker formed a dedicated team to speed its electrification efforts, which had called for introducing 13 EVs and hybrids worldwide over the next five years.
