Continental AG plans to open a 258,000 sq-ft electronic components plant in Aguascalientes, Mexico, in 2020.

The company is investing about $60 million in the facility, which will support Continental’s interiors business. Construction is due to start next summer.

The factory, which is expected to employ 1,000 people by 2023, will manufacture electronic control units, door control units, lighting control boards and antenna modules for Ford, General Motors and Nissan.
