Global light-vehicle sales will decline 3% this year to 92.1 million units amid ongoing trade tensions and other lingering concerns and uncertainties, says Jeff Schuster, president of global vehicle forecasting for LMC Automotive.

The downturn will be led by China, which was off 6% in the first half of the year and is expected to fall 5% for the full year. Western Europe is the only region projected to have a flat growth this year, but Schuster notes there is a lot of risk for the U.K. if a hard Brexit occurs.
