This six-page report from the Moscow-based Assn. of European Businesses describes in detail the 10% decline to 2.49 million in deliveries of passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles in Russia in 2014.

Seven of Russia's top 10 brands posted lower sales in 2014: Lada (-15% to 387,300 units), Kia (-1% to 195,700), Renault (-7% to 194,500), Hyundai (-1% to 179,600), Volkswagen (-18% to 128,100), Chevrolet (-29% to 123,200) and Ford (-38% to 66,000).

Three brands reported gains in 2014: Nissan (+11% to 162,000 units), Toyota (+5% to 162,000) and Mitsubishi (+2% to 80,100).

AEB expects the Russian economy to fall into recession in 2015, resulting in a 24% drop in car sales to 1.89 million units.
