As cars become more connected, their capabilities are expanding dramatically. That means adding more computer chips and software.
Two giants in those fields, chipmaker Intel Corp. and software developer QNX Software Systems, have collaborated on automotive electronics for years. Now they are expanding their alliance.
Intel's Ken Obuszewski, director of automotive marketing, and QNX's Andrew Poliak, global director of automotive business development, say the result will be far more flexible electronics that can easily adopt new features and update existing capabilities over the life of the vehicle.
