Securing Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication

Tomorrow’s cars will continuously “talk” to each other, exchanging location and velocity data several times per second to help avoid collisions.
The key to communicating securely is to build cyber-security into such systems from the start, says Pino Porciello, who heads product management and marketing for Waterloo, Ontario-based TrustPoint Innovation Technologies Ltd.
TrustPoint has been heavily involved for years with the Crash Avoidance Metrics Partnership created by Ford and General Motors in 1995. The Canadian company specializes in products that ensure communication security for machine-to-machine and Internet of Things services.
