The U.S. auto industry is coping with a shortage of candidates to fill skilled trades and white collar jobs. Brose North America's solution in both areas is to partner with community colleges and local governments. The results, says President Michael Brosseau, are programs for high school graduates that combine classroom education with hands-on experience in various departments at Brose facilities across the region.
The German-based supplier has active training programs in Canada, Mexico and the state of Michigan. Brosseau says the company currently is targeting high school grads with interests in mechatronics, mechanical design and IT.
